About
[Cold Spring, NY, July 5 ] Putnam County Dance Project (PCDP)* will present a collective showcase of modern dance July 28th at Dancing Dialogue at 26 Main Street in Cold Spring, NY. Marie Carstens and Erin Jennings, former professional dancers and co-founders of Putnam County Dance Project, will choreograph and dance in this varied modern dance performance along with friends and colleagues from NYC and surrounding counties.
The event will feature art by renowned artists William Giese and Mickie Hoffman. Giese created a backdrop for the dancers, bringing beautiful yet subtle color and depth to the intimate studio on Main Street. Other works by Giese and Hoffman will be on display in the lobby of Dancing Dialogue. One of the paintings by Hoffman inspired dancers Carstens and Jennings in the creation of their quartet, jointly choreographed and performed with Mary Beth Hraniotis and Faith Kimberling to Pierre de Gaillande’s recording of music by French composer Georges Brassens.
This summer modern dance showcase will feature PCDP members and dance alumni from former and current companies such as Ballettech, Battery Dance, Dances by Isadora, Encounters, Pilobolus and Sokolow Dance Theater among others.
*This project is made possible, in part, through the Putnam Arts Council’s Arts Link Grant Program, with public funds provided by Putnam County.
